There are not many reasons we would willingly consider spending 12 hours roundtrip on an Amtrak train ... but a visit to Usona Home is one of them. The retail store and showroom, located about 300 miles away from our office in Boston, sits in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, and has been curating one of the most beautiful, unique modern furniture collections we've seen of late.
The breadth of the store's selection stems directly from their sourcing strategy: find the best-made, most cutting-edge modern furniture from all over the world--think Italian-made leather seating, colorful rugs hand-knotted in Nepal, and dining tables created from slabs of New Zealand Kauri wood--and gather it in one place.
Here are a few of the pieces we currently have our eye on.
BENCH 08287. This beech wood (or walnut) and leather piece is a sleek take on the omnipresent tufted settee
ARMCHAIR 13403 This cagelike armchair gets its form from steam-bended walnut wood.
DESK 08269 How to make work fun: buy this desk, made of brass and leather.
So who's meeting us in the bar car?
